Award winner Eike Hoffmann receiving the Young Researcher Awards.

During the 14th International Conference on the Technology of Plasticity (ICTP), the research associate Eike Hoffmann has been awarded the Young Researcher Award (under the age of 35 years) of the Japan Society for the Technology of Plasticity (JSTP) for his excellent publication and presentation on the topic of kinematic profile bending with partial heating. Alongside Mr. Hoffmann two other international scientists received this award. This year’s ICTP took place from the 24th to the 29th of September in Mandelieu-la-Napoule, France. The price has been awarded this year for the first time.
The price has been established as per wish by Professor Taylan Altan who gave back his gold medal in order to develop human resources. He has been awarded this medal by the JSTP in 1996 for his work in the field of research and development in the area of precision forging. Due to this reason the JSTP established the Young Researcher Award in which the winners are awarded gold medals. The gold medals have been produced from the gold of Professor Altan’s original medal.
