SPP2476 – Holistic process chain modeling for aluminum profile forming

© IUL
The industrial production of a component usually combines multiple process steps in sequence. The upstream stages can have a direct effect onto the following stages and throughout the whole process chain. As part of the priority program SPP 2476 funded by the DFG, the IUL together with the Chair for Reliability Engineering (CRE) was granted a three-year project to investigate a process chain of extrusion, bending and aging on the performance of the final component (Project number: 558590357). The main goal of the project is the enhancement of aluminum profile forming through statistical machine learning aided by numerical and analytical methods, to efficiently reach optimal properties of reduced uncertainty.
