Meeting of the Committee for Research and Technology at the IUL

On the 10th of April the Committee for Research and Technology (Industry Association / “Industrieverband Massivumformung e.V”) met at the Institute for Forming Technology and Lightweight Components (IUL) of TU Dortmund University. The reason for the visit of the 20 committee members was primarily the change in the institute's management at the beginning of the year. The meeting provided a great opportunity to bid farewell to the long-time head of the IUL, Prof. Tekkaya, who was particularly appreciated by the participants for his commitment in the field of bulk metal forming.
The Research and Technology Committee then welcomed the new head of the institute, Prof. Korkolis to open the door for future collaboration. As the committee was meeting at the IUL for the first time, Prof. Yannis Korkolis began by presenting the institute's research content and the international collaborations. Other projects and activities of the Institute were presented by some of the research associates from his team. A tour through the experimental hall gave all participants of the meeting a more detailed insight into the experimental field.
The afternoon was used for an internal meeting of the Research and Technology Committee. The Industry Association (“Industrieverband Massivumformung e.V.”) published more detailed information on their day at the IUL in a separate article on its homepage. This can be found under the following link: Der Ausschuss Forschung und Technik traf sich anlässlich des Wechsels in der Institutsleitung beim IUL in Dortmund: Massivumformung
The Institute of Forming Technology and Lightweight Components would like to take this opportunity to express its sincere thanks for the open-minded meeting and the professional exchange. We look forward to further communication with the members of the committee and the Industry Association and are excited to see in which research areas the paths of the Institute and the association will cross in the future.
