We are honored to announce that our paper, titled “On the Potential of Manufacturing Multi-Material Components With Micro/Nanocellular Structures Via the Hybrid Process of Electromagnetic Forming Injection Foaming,” has been awarded the Kornel F. Ehmann Manufacturing Medal during the MSEC 2025 Conference.

This prestigious award, established by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) in 2019, recognizes outstanding original research related to micro- or nano-scale manufacturing processes.

The paper presents a novel hybrid approach that combines electromagnetic forming with injection foaming to enable the manufacturing of advanced multi-material components with engineered cellular structures. The work was co-authored by Mahdi Pirani (Clemson University), Marlon Hahn, Hamed Dardaei Joghan, A. Erman Tekkaya (TU Dortmund University), and Saeed Farahani, Ph.D. (Clemson University).

We are grateful to the ASME Manufacturing Engineering Division for this recognition and to MSEC 2025 for hosting this meaningful award ceremony.
