Girls*Day at IUL

On April, 23rd 2026 the IUL was proud to participate in the Germany-wide Girls*Day event where ten young ladies learned about the daily life as a Mechanical Engineer working at a research institute. They learned about the many manufacturing processes in the IUL research lab and even designed and manufactured their own winged rhino from aluminum and steel. They were involved in each step of the manufacturing process from the extrusion of the rhino profiles to the laser cutting and bending of the rhino’s wings. Each girl went home with their very own customized rhino and (hopefully) many fond memories of the institute.
